In 1991 we were at a dog show with our 1st show dog, Brook, a Golden Retriever. It was there that Kathy saw a 13” in the group, and stated that she wanted a Beagle to show. That was how Kountry Beagles began… Early in 1993 we purchased our first beagle “Kasey”, later to become Ch. Vance All That Glitters. She bounced off the place early that year and never stopped until she passed away 14 years later. Kasey taught us everything she felt we needed to know about beagles and kept us well trained right until the end. |

We have owned and bred many champions, multiple Best in Specialty Show and Group Winning Dogs. Among those are BIS / BISS Ch. Kountry’s Trail Blazer and BISS Ch. Kountry’s Sir Beauregard the top 15” beagle in 2002. More recently and on another front “Kari”, Ch. Kountry’s Kari Me Away became our first movie star starring in the children’s classic Shilo 3 — Saving Shiloh. |

With a lot of hard work, dedication, luck, and an enormous amount of support, advice and encouragement from Phil Baffert of Alamo Beagles we developed a kennel we can be proud of. Without Mr. Baffert we would not have had the success that we have. Phil has been my mentor and friend for close to 20 years now and as he is dealing with health challenges of his own, we and Erin Hines (the exclusive handler for both Kountry and Alamo Beagles) are caring for his dogs until he is back on his feet. Additionally we have entered into a partnership with Esther Tomatis of Lothan Kennels. She brings us more than 40 years of beagle knowledge, and through our joint commitment to the breed have produced many more champions and ranked dogs such as Ch. Lothan’s Good Golly Moses, and Ch. Lothan’s Kountry Cassanova. |
